Officer Rick Krause: An Unsung Hero

This week’s Thankful Thursday would like to commend Bel Air, Maryland Police Department Officer Rick Krause for his tireless efforts for the citizens of Bel Air. He works very closely with the Bel Air Lions year-round on many community efforts. Officer Krause is considered a strong role model for Bel Air’s youth as well as being the School Safety Officer at the Bel Air High School, as the leader of the Bel Air Police Explorer Post 9010 and as one of the organizers for the Bel Air Police Community Child Safety Fair.

Officer Krause’s most direct and lasting impact on the community’s youth is his role as the leader of Explorer Post 9010. The Bel Air Police Department Explorer Post is a volunteer organization through which young people, 14-21 years of age, are trained in many aspects of law enforcement. The program is chartered as a law enforcement Explorer Post with the Boy Scouts of America. The goals of Explorer Post 9010 are to train young women and men for a future in law enforcement and to provide quality candidates for police cadets, community service officers, police officers, and other law enforcement related positions within the community. They perform many service efforts in the community as well as participating yearly at the Bel Air Lions’ Fruit and Christmas Tree sales.

The community of Bel Air wants its citizens to recognize Officer Krause for all of his wonderful qualities which makes him such an invaluable youth leader.
